Read the fine print. Its a phrase that is often uttered after an overlooked and often unexpected action happens in the course of a deal or an agreement. It often signals an advantage for one, yet a disadvantage for another. "Fine print" can be either a blessing in disguise or a curse depending on what side of a situation you happen to be on. In the case of Gaven Jaxon, it would be the latter.
This past weekend at WDWA Freedom for All, a contract signing took place for the upcoming Street Fight between Jaxon and the Latin Tornado happening at BerkeleyMania. A cocky overzealous Gaven Jaxon walked to the ring like he had next months matchup already won. As the man chastized his upcoming opponent and his wife, Melynda who was standing at ringside, Jaxon eagerly signed the contract and made the match official. Melynda, a co-owner of WDWA asked an overjoyed Jaxon if he had read what he just signed. It was clear that he had not. Melynda was about to turn Jaxon's joy into fear, as he was about to find out that not only was he in a Street Fight on August 10th, but that FANS WOULD BE BRINGING THE WEAPONS.
This match was already a volitile situation for Jaxon before this huge revelation. This man has not only attacked his opponent and caused the man serious injury, he has attacked his family including his wife. Being put in a Street Fight with a man out for revenge is one thing. Being in that situation where you have no clue what he will be able to attack you with is a completely different situation altogether. We spoke to those who knew Gaven Jaxon, all who had a variety of opinions on the situation.
"I'm not at all surpirsed he didnt read the contract" said a jovial Shane Malice when we spoke to him following Freedom for All. "It was only a matter of time before Gaven Jaxon was going to write a check with his mouth that he couldnt cash. I'd be worried if I were him because LT won't be playing games on August 10th." Jaxon's manager Doug Rafferty was furious when he spoke to him by phone earlier this week. " This is exactly the kind of thing we've come to expect from underhanded people like LT and his wife. What if Gaven gets injured? Why would they willingly put us in a position to potentially get hurt? If the shoe were on the other foot, we would never do that to them.... on weekdays."
The stakes could not be any higher. Regardless of what happens, the Latin Tornado will be finished with wrestling after August 10th. However, if he loses his final contest, he also loses his company for a year to Jaxon and Rafferty. If he wins, the group known as S.I.N must disband for good. Who will survive this Street Fight? The only way to find out is to be there, LIVE on August 10th as WDWA Presents: BerkeleyMania. Tickets are going fast, so be sure to get yours ASAP. Click the link below to purchase tickets.
WDWA Freedom for All Results 7-13-19 - Berkeley Springs, WV
“The Country Outlaw” Justin Yeager def Leslie Trainer
An excellent return to WDWA for Yeager as he makes quick work of Trainer, overpowering him with a barrage of suplexes and lariats. In one of the few bits of offense for Trainer, he attempted to achieve victory with a rollup with his feet on the ropes for leverage. His plan backfired as Yeager was able to reverse this and defeat him with the very same maneuver.
The Misfits (The Freak and Dance Dance Lucha Libre) def The Sweet Elite (CEO and Mr Lee subbing for Victor Jones)
With Victor Jones nowhere to be found, Mr Lee stepped in to be the partner of CEO. Early on, the debuting Dance Dance Lucha Libre frustrated CEO with frequent dance break (yes, really) during the match. The conclusion saw Mr Lee attempt to hit the dancing luchador with a chain, only for him to move out of the way and cause CEO to take the hit and give The Misfits the victory. After the contest a frustrated CEO walked out on Mr Lee and left the bdg.
Laura Loveless def Avery Rose.
And impressive back and forth contests between two newcomers to WDWA. The crowd was certainly behind Rose the entire match who is from nearby Moorefield, WV. Though she ultimately came up short in this contest to the veteran Loveless, it was an impressive performance by one of the Mountain State’s own.
Tony Macko def Cizzko to win the WDWA Light Heavyweight Championship.
An excellent back and forth matchup between two rivals in this contest, which even spilled out into the crowd at some points. As Cizzko went out into the crowd towards the end of the contest, An angry Kevin Mears appeared out of nowhere and attacked the champion on the outside of the ring. This allowed Macko to hit his patented Frog Splash for the win and the championship.
